CJ not restored under any deal: Aitzaz

LAHORE: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has not been restored as a result of any deal, former president of Supreme Court Bar Association Aitzaz Ahsan said on Thursday. Addressing the lawyers here, he said that Chief Justice would continue to provide justice to the masses through taking suo motu notices. “Had I not rescued the former minister Dr. Sher Afghan Niazi, some miscreant elements would have played a dangerous role,” he said. Ahsan said some people wanted to attack the parliament during the first long march, saying though it was averted, otherwise, any such move would have made the restoration of deposed judges very difficult.
