Section 144 imposed across Balochistan against wheat smuggling

QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Food Ali Madad Khatak has said on Saturday that government has imposed section 144 across province to obstruct wheat smuggling. Addressing a press conference, he said the production of wheat in the province could be enough to cater the need of Balochistan if wheat’s smuggling from here is brought under control. “It is almost impossible to stop wheat smuggling from province due to the long Pakistan-Afghan boarder, he informed adding”, “We are committed to take strict action against wheat dealers who store it”. According to the officials estimates, minister asserted, 0.4 million metric ton wheat will be bought for the province this year.
